Hello, Cleveland-based college students

Amanda Powell, Campus Minister

I’m so glad you’ve found United Protestant Campus Ministries (UPCaM). I began my work as UPCaM’s Campus Minister in Fall 2024. Alongside my work in ministry, I am a musician, educator, and a mom of 17-year-old twin daughters. My favorite things about ministry are getting to know people and what brings them joy, creating a sense of community and belonging, and walking with people through life’s beautiful and challenging times.

My faith has been shaped by experiencing many traditions and styles of worship. I grew up in the United Church of Christ and was a youth leader and music director for a new church start in Virginia. I attended a United Methodist University and traveled to South East Asia to share and learn music with people in eight countries. I’ve continued my world travels since then and have collected stories and songs that I love weaving into worship. Being in community and singing with people is where I feel God’s presence most. I’m a curious person and love engaging with people about who they are, what they love, and how they view life. I believe that God is in all things, around us, between us, in the smallest and most expansive parts of the universe. I believe that you are a beloved child of God. I am really excited to know you and to walk together for a while.

Come be a part of the UPCaM Fam. You are welcome and wanted. See you soon!
